A:AnswerLook at my installation pics. You DO need a window as the unit does three things: 1) blows cool air, 2) extracts indoor hot air, 3) exhausts hot air outside. No need to remove any windows, frames, or mosquito screens.
A:AnswerI purchased two of these units for a late 1930's home. While the house has replacement windows one of them was smaller than the exhaust panel. I cut the plastic panel easily with a saw and was able to fit it to the window without problem.
A:AnswerThat happened to me as well until I got my teenage daughter involved. There is no snapping it into place and it stays. It's more of a finesse kind of mechanics. You need to twist it into place and ensure the large overlapping groove is in the correct spot which prevents it from detaching. Once you look inside the hose you will know what I am saying. Also make sure your placement of the unit is directly in front of the window so the hose is straight. Any place else like to the right/left of the window puts too much strain on the connects and it will come pop off after an hour or two. The other option is - Duct Tape solves everything but it doesn't look nice.
A:AnswerAs long as the window isn't too high....the exhaust tube will need to be able to reach the window.
FYI - I ended up returning mine due to water leakage after 3 uses. When i called Frigidaire, I was told that I needed to purchase a separate dehumidifier to work with the air conditioner. I've had portable A/C units before and never had to do this. They were not helpful at all!!
A:AnswerI had the same issue the first couple of days...it depends on what setting you put it on. If you use dehumidify or another setting you must attach a drain on the bottom in the back. If you are using cool...MAKE sure the black plug on the back of the unit is closed. When I removed my unit from the box and set it up I did not realize that that plug was not plugged up and thats why it leaked. Since I put the plug in I have had no problems. Hope this helps :D
A:AnswerThe air conditioner itself does not go into the window, it sits on the floor and is connected, by a 5-1/2" diameter plastic hose to a 'Window Slider Kit', which goes into the window. The Window Slider Kit consists of two pieces which slide together; the assembly is about 7" wide, and is adjustable from 26-1/2" to 48-1/2" long. The Window Slider Kit piece that has the hole for connecting the hose can be used by itself and cut down (it is plastic) to accommodate windows smaller than 26-1/2". As a side note, if you are willing to cut a 6" diameter hole into an exterior wall, the unit can be vented through an exterior wall using a 6" dryer vent hood.
A:AnswerNo you don't need a drain just put the air exhaust in the window and turn it on. We just had a week of 90s and high humidity worked just great.
A:AnswerMy friend was visiting and stayed in our 21ft RV for a few days we used this unit and placed the exhaust hose outside a window and it was able to cool the place well especially the bed area in the back that it faced. This was with 100 degree weather.
A:AnswerThe plug itself is only a North American ally, it's foes include EU, AU, and Asian outlets. Unless you get the UN plug converter that allows it to work all around the world.
A:AnswerHello JayP! The air conditioner FFPA0822R1 will distribute up to 55.6 decibels of sound during operation. The bottom hose cap should be hand tightened, as anything tighter could cause an issue within the drain. We hope this information helps you with the air conditioner. Please, do not hesitate to contact us directly or via the Q&A forum on this website for any additional assistance with the microwave. –Thanks!-
