We have a guest room that also doubles as our home gym. This little fridge fits just right in a little space we have between a murphy bed and treadmill. It will mostly just be used for beverages (water, sodas, sports drinks) and since it’s a functioning home gym, it’s nice to keep those beverages and some chilled protein bars in there. This fridge provides ample space for all of this with a lower space, a removable glass shelf, and door storage. Standard water bottles fit in the door and on the glass shelf. One thing to note is at the back of the fridge behind the glass shelf, there is an uneven ledge that is not aligned with the glass shelf and causes a bump that your water bottles will sit unevenly on if you try to push them to the back of the fridge. There is a small drainage hole in the back behind the shelf. Seems like a drainage hole should be lower as this will only catch overflow at the top shelf and not below, or maybe this is for another model that has a freezer? I tested the temp and the back wall is actually sub 30 degrees when temp set on “Med”, but does a good job keeping drinks about 38-40 degrees in the rest of the fridge. If you remove the glass shelf you will have room to stand up a wine bottle. This could actually work as a second little fridge to store sodas, wine, or beer without cluttering up your main fridge. It's relatively quiet, but not silent. It does make a humming noise when it’s just sitting there. Hopefully it will not seem too loud to the guests in the room. The exterior has a nice sleek modern look. Overall, I like it and it will come in handy both for guests and gym beverages.

This mini fridge is a mini powerhouse. The exterior features a simple, modern black finish that is straightforward and easily incorporated into most settings. A highly practical element of the design is the reversible door, allowing to be able to switch the hinge location to open from the left or the right with ease. This feature is great for placement in restrictive spaces or corners. The door handle is recessed, providing a clean look and preventing snagging. The main cooling area is dominated by one adjustable wire shelf. This shelf can be positioned at various heights to accommodate taller items, such as standard beverage bottles or a gallon milk jug. However, I have notice due to the unit’s overall shallow profile, fitting multiple large containers side-by-side requires strategic packing. The door storage is compartmentalized, offering dedicated slots that can typically hold several cans or small juice boxes, freeing up the main shelf for larger items or perishable foods. The cooling system is governed by an internal temperature control dial. I can easily adjust this thermostat to maintain items at desired temperatures, from a light chill to near-freezing levels. It is important to note that while the internal cooling element can get extremely cold, this unit does not contain , isolated freezer compartment. The cold plate primarily functions to chill the main cavity. In operation, the Insignia unit maintains a low noise profile. The cycling of the compressor is audible when the unit kicks on, but it is a soft, background hum, making the appliance well-suited for noise-sensitive locations.

This is nearly perfect for a dorm room, a TV room, a spare bedroom or as in my case...The Garage! It can be set cold enough to partially freeze my cache of caffeinated cans of fizzy water! It easily swallowed and chilled to perfection, 15 cans of 16 ounces of the elixer of (my) life! It fit perfectly in a space in my workbench and is easily accessed from the throne of thinking (my workbench chair!) after I finish my daily workout in the gym on the other side of the garage! What more could anyone ask for? Glad you asked! A light. In the garage that isn't a big problem only an annoyance but in a dorm room, TV room or spare bedroom a built in light that turns on when you open the door is something of a necessity and this otherwise (Mary Poppins Alert!) practically perfect in every way Insignia 1.7 cubic foot Mini Fridge is knocked down 1 star in the real world in which many folk will be using it. In my world it is PERFECT. In fact, I will just get a mini LED light and stick it inside and if needed, it'll be there. It does exactly what it was built to do. It fits perfectly in my workbench in my garage. It is, for me, the Goldilocks version of a refrigerator. Not too big. Not too small. Just...right! Highly recommend for those that need one in their world.
