Hello GailD! There are two ways to drain the water that comes into the air conditioner FFPA0822R1. The dehumidifying drain outlet is located in the middle of the back of the air conditioner and there is an additional bottom drain for the air conditioner as well. You would plug your hose into the dehumidifier drain hose outlet for proper draining and it is drained out by gravity not through a pump. We hope this information is helpful to you. –Thanks!-
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, there is a drain spout on the back. It rarely needs draining though, it has a built-in feature that evaporates it. If it does start filling up with water, I use a water bottle and lean the unit back a tad to drain it. I have only had to drain it two times, when I first started running it I had to drain it, but I have not had to do so since. Even when it did have water in it, it wasn't much. I would say it wouldn't even fill a bathroom cup, you know the tiny cups people use in their bathrooms when brushing their teeth.
