This unit must be vented to outside as expels heated air in order to cool as all A/C units do whether floor or window. You may try just an automatic shut off dehumidifier that would have to be emptied once humidity collects as water as we have this type of unit in the basement and feels like it's air conditioned in summer. Does a great job.

If you vent the air inside the room, then you're doing precisely nothing. The only options I can think of are dehumidifiers or evaporative coolers. Dehumidifiers will make the room less humid which would make you less sweaty, but they wouldn't make the room cooler. Evaporative coolers will make the room cooler, but will also increase humidity. They would also not work very well if the room is already humid. Alternatively, if there's an accessible air vent in the room, you could probably use that to vent heat instead of a window. -A

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you are using the unit in cooling mode, you must use the exhaust adapter hose and position the unit close to a window so the warm exhaust air can be ducted outside.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. There is a vent hose on the back that has to vent the hot air out a window. It is the diameter of a dryer venting hose. The hot air would just pour back into the room without it.
