“Can I use the unit as an AC source without the hose? My windows are casement windows and we'd have to make a make-shift screen in order to accomodate the hose. We want to use it as an AC still, not just a dehumidifier.”

• Hello MagSC! We recommend installing the hose into the window when using the air conditioner FFPA0822R1 to distribute any hot air. Using the air conditioner without the hose will cause improper temperatures within the space. We hope this information is helpful. –Thanks!-

• The exhaust hose you have to use if that's what you mean. The dehumidifier you don't have to use. I don't and the unit works just fine. I hope this helps.
