How's the drain hose work? Must the hose go downward, ie to allow gravity to push the water out? Both windows I will be using are higher up than the a/c unit, so I'm not sure how the drain hose would work if it will also have to go higher than the unit null

It attaches at the bottom for gravity drain.

The drain hose comes out of the back of the unit. I have a bucket sitting behind the unit with the hose draining into it. My windows are higher than the unit. The hose does not come with the unit.
