Well I cannot answer on the two 15,000 units I bought. UPS broke both the one to my house--and the one I had mailed to the store. I did find a 12,000 BTU at the store and it has an economy setting and it does turn off and on --completely off like a refrigerator. If you are going to buy a 15,000 unit I suggest doing so from the store and really take a close look at the box. My boxes had holes and sides split from top to bottom--broken all to heck! On the one I bought- I ask the store clerk why the floor box was so nice and he stated those units are brought by a Best Buy truck. Makes a difference--who is driving the truck!!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It can be set to do that (Eco Mode) or set to run the fan constantly with the compressor kicking in as needed to cool. Take a look at the owners manual online.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Aces! Typically, when the set temperature is reach, the air conditioner will shut off and the fan may continue to run to cool the compressor; which is normal. Once the temperature in the location rises, the compressor will come back on. Hopefully, this information was helpful to you. -Thanks!-
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have the unit on, the fan always blows. It only cools when the temp sensor says its warmer than your temp setting. This unit also has a timer on it so it will turn on in say 4 hours or shut of in 4 hours.
