A:Answer So was mine. This concerns me also. The same model, just 1 or 2 year years ago, had the protection grate, and I was surprised the factory deleted it. (anything to save a buck and 1 less step in manufacture). I am going to purchase some thick poultry wire or grate, cut it and heavy-duty double stick tape it on.
