A:AnswerHi Boyscout! The air conditioner FFRE1533U1 requires a voltage of 115 for proper electrical operations. Hopefully this information is helpful to your shopping experience. –Thanks!-
A:AnswerHi Steve! Thank you for your inquiry. In researching, we were able to see that it is able to be installed thru-the-wall. We hope this helps! -Thanks!-
A:AnswerThis unit requires q 15 amp breaker.
It also has a 15 amp GFCI built into the plug.
Its not any louder than any other AC window unit.
Mine is in my Living room. You may need to turn the TV up a little when its running.
A:AnswerWell I cannot answer on the two 15,000 units I bought. UPS broke both the one to my house--and the one I had mailed to the store. I did find a 12,000 BTU at the store and it has an economy setting and it does turn off and on --completely off like a refrigerator. If you are going to buy a 15,000 unit I suggest doing so from the store and really take a close look at the box. My boxes had holes and sides split from top to bottom--broken all to heck! On the one I bought- I ask the store clerk why the floor box was so nice and he stated those units are brought by a Best Buy truck. Makes a difference--who is driving the truck!!
A:AnswerThe window kit is not necessary. I installed mine without it. My 15000 btu unit was 24 inches wide with a 27 inch window opening. I used some rigid foam to fill in the gap to the window frame.
A:AnswerSo was mine. This concerns me also. The same model, just 1 or 2 year years ago, had the protection grate, and I was surprised the factory deleted it. (anything to save a buck and 1 less step in manufacture). I am going to purchase some thick poultry wire or grate, cut it and heavy-duty double stick tape it on.
A:AnswerIt should fit in a 24" window if you don't install the slide frames.
Those are the slides on each side that take up the extra space in the window so bugs and external air don't get in.
You will have to close the gap with duct tape or some type of foam.
Not sure if that will void the warranty though.
A:AnswerThe unit takes 110volts. The salesman at the store had to call someone after looking online in the specifications and not finding the volts. I bought the unit and it uses a 110 volt outlet.
