Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the cooling power and relatively quiet operation of the 850 Sq. Ft. Window Air Conditioner. Many also find it easy to use and energy efficient, with the remote control a convenient feature. However, some customers note challenges with installation and the unit's significant weight and size. The instructions could also be improved for clarity.

    Cool and quiet...

I'm one of those people who are constantly hot. The lowest temperature setting is 60°, and you do need to give it quite a bit of time to cool a hot room down, but it will get cool enough to be comfortable. If you're like me, then this AC will be just adequate (you won't feel freezing), but for what it's worth, and the fact that it's a window AC, it's a very decent one. I like how quiet it is, and sometimes forget that it's on. I had maintenance guys in my building install it in my window, but even I could see what a pain it was to install. This is not the type of window AC you want to take down and put up with the changing of the seasons, unless you're a really handy person and don't mind the task.

I bought this a/c from best buy because they did have the best price on this unit for the square footage, also was able to use my bes but card and get financing for a nice slow payoff with no interest! This ac does the job in my home, instantly cools down the house even on the hottest days, it wasnt too much of a hassle to set up, just make sure you have any idea how you want to help support it from the exterior. Definitely pleased I bought this unit, I was a bit unsure about frigidaire at first, but am now a fan, and this unit is fairly quiet especially considering its size and fan size, has a economy mode, and also a timer.. I would recommend this unit to anyone!

Used this all summer in my garage, couldn't be happier with it . Cooled my 3 car garage with ease. Remote control comes in handy. My only complaint is that the Best Buy listing did not state that in addition to window mounting it can also be a wall mount, which I did by following the directions that came with it. Needs better packaging if you have it delivered, first one had to be replaced do to shipping damage by UPS.

This Frigidaire AC is heavy, gets cold and makes whining and clunking sounds sometimes. My 15,000 btu LG AC was 11 years old and I gave it away and bought this Frigidaire. I have a 10,000 btu Frigidaire in my bedroom window. It grinds and clunks and makes a high pitch whine when turned on.

Great AC for apartment, bad install job.

AC is great, I think this is a perfect fit for an apartment. It runs quietly, way less than our older unit. We used Bestbuy Geek Squad to have it installed. WARNING: make sure you check their installation, and pay attention to what they are doing to have this unit installed. We needed to have the installation done 3 times plus one appointment with their deputy field manager to make sure they installed it properly. First install, the brackets didn't even touch the unit to fully support it. After the techs were gone, we were looking at the window and noticed at least 2 inches gap between the unit and the bracket. The second installation, they came back with a new bracket (saying we needed extra parts), and they installed it and it was loose and "wobbly". Just look at the picture. We voiced our concerns and they said "it will hold". That's when we made complain to the deputy field manager, which he came to inspect the installation. Then they sent new techs and re-installed everything again. We didn't even need the new bracket that the previous tech installed. The back metal parts were even scratched. The problem was if this unit were to fell out of the window, it will definitely kill someone since we are on an apartment building. So make sure you check everything. We wasted so much time getting this unit installed.

Nice a/c unit works great. You must remove the unit from the case to install in window. If you have new vinyl windows you need to support it. It very heavy. Cools the whole lower part of my home.

I purchased this after returning a disappointing 10k portable ac unit. This 15k unit easily cools the entire 1st fl of a 1500sq ft / 2 story row home. Installed in the wall of dining room. Remote works.

Home has central AC but when it gets 85 degrees or hotter outside ,the temp won’t drop past 78 degrees inside. Used this unit to help out and in just 10 minutes after installation temp dropped to 70 degrees on the first floor that’s about 1500 sq ft 3 bedrooms 1 bath kitchen living and dinning room. Very happy with this unit.

Upon opening my air conditioner I discovered it look like it was bounced all over the warehouse. It was missing all the mounting hardware. It was clearly a returned or display unit that had been installed somewhere else. It was dented, the cord was cut and haphazardly repackaged. I was left with putting this monstrous 120 lb air conditioner in my car to return to the store. Never again.

It's an excellent unit it's big though, so be prepared for pretty involved installation. It's very heavy to so you're going to need someone to help you. But once I got it up and running this thing just puts out cold air like no other unit of ever had before I've had several 12000 BTU units and is 15000 BTU unit is the best

I'm a very particular person and not for the foolishness. The sun sits in my living room, 85° outside is 105° inside, so far I have no complaints. I did have it installed via Geek Squad, took them an hour and an half but very efficient. It's also quiet, works fine but its large. I have no plans of removing the AC after the summer, since it's that heavy.

Bought this to replace an old 12000btu a/c. Cools great, fairly quiet and cools our whole 1st floor. Very satisfied overall; however, having to basically take it apart and slide out the unit to put the rails and extenders on was a definite pain! Screws need to be installed from inside. Instructions could also be better written. Once installed, it has been performing satisfactorily so far.

I received the unit via UPS. I noticed the box was damaged. I opened the box and did not notice too much damage to the unit. Some of the outside case of the unit was bent but not bad enough to cause damage to the inside unit. I went ahead with the install cause it has been getting hot up here in the mountains. You definitely need two people to do this install. I did everything correctly and started up the unit. This unit cools our living room and office area quickly and comfortably. The only thing I noticed is the water is just sitting in the unit, not dripping out the back. I did install the unit so it has a decline going towards the back and even with the decline the water does not get high enough to go over the back lip. I was thinking about drilling a hole on the bottom towards the back so the water can escape? Every once in a while the fan catches some of the water and shoots it into the vent, causing dripping. I wonder if anyone else was having this problem? Other a good AC window unit.

Purchased this to replace our old central air unit on the main floor. Area is just about 850 sq. ft. and cools the entire floor after a while. We also operate a ceiling fan in the kitchen which helps cool that end of the floor. We set temperature between 74 & 76 and have no complaints with area not being cool. Remote control also has a thermostat functionality which is also a cool feature. So far after less than 1 month my PSE&G electric consumption is about 2% lower and I'm pretty sure it was not as hot this time last year.

I used to have an old window shaker that wasn’t very efficient and figured it was time for a new one. This unit cools the entire apartment incredibly well. This apartment has terrible insulation and is much larger than the recommended square footage of the unit. That being said, I have it running almost 24/7, but it works great. It is less costly to run than my old model and much quieter. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a decently priced unit.

The A/C is amazing. It cools my entire apartment, has tons of different settings, and is not loud. However, I have to agree in that the installation is a bit tedious and may require a second person. The steps are easy to follow, but if you are rather weak you might find this difficult. I would recommend having it installed by geek squad to save any headache. Very high quality a/c!!

This air conditioner is fantastic. It cools our 800 sqft living room really well. Our house has absolutely awful insulation and a lot of windows, so if it's above 75 outside, it gets and stays hot in our house. It's quite powerful and quickly cools the living room, no matter the temp outside. The only problem is that the instructions aren't very good, and may be a bit confusing. It's quite heavy, so be prepared.

I'm very happy with this air conditioner. I upgraded to the 15,00 btu as my 8,000 was just not doing the job after moving into a 2 bedroom unit. Frigidaire makes an excellent product. The setting controls are so handy and easy to use. I love the remote. Most of all, my apartment is comfortable 24/7. The noise it make is the usual air conditioner sound and it doesn't bother me so it must be ok.
