“I see the width of this unit is 23.6 inches but it also says the minimum width for the window must be 29 inches. Why is that? Our window is 28 inches wide in the area that opens. Why wouldn't this work? Thanks”

Hi JenP! The minimum window dimension width is 29" and the maximum is 41". The width dimensions would be different from the width of the air conditioner, because the adjustable sides have to be factored in. Hope this helps! -Thanks!-
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it should be fine for 28 inches... You may not be able to use the included accordion side covers, but I didn't use them, so if it doesn't fit, you can customize the side covers. I used a plexiglass cutout for my 36" wide window. See pics...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have mine installed in a 29" window and it fits. Anything smaller and the side slide frames will be in the way. Those are the slides to take up the space on the side of the unit so bugs and air don't get in.
