That's how it's supposed to be for air flow. And water will overflow. Its normal. The unit uses the water for efficiency. Fan hits the water, splashes onto the condenser coil, and cools freon. Make sure is at a downward angle when setting up, but not too far. Just a slight slope

After some research we were able to see that the rear of the air conditioner doesn't come with any additional covers. The water from your air conditioner actually evaporates. If there is excessive moisture or it is very humid, your air conditioner may possibly drain from the bottom or rear. We hope this information was helpful to you. -Ciara
