Bottom of microwave is about 10 inches minimum from stove top. Which I think means from top of microwave to bottom of the top of stove top is 27 inches. Or so. People think it needs to be up on those really high up and smallest cabinet. Not true. It’s way it is written in manual. You measure from bottom of the top cabinet to top of the stove. It’s about 27 or 30 inches. Leaves foot or more over the stove. Legal. I know. I am short. And changed my cabinets up above to use longer ones. So I can use it. Originally these short top cabinets were made to accommodate two oven or combo oven and old fashion big microwave from back in the 70’s. So that is why they made small cabinets.

The installation instruction advised 30" (76.2 cm) minimum clearance from the top of the microwave cabinet to the surface of the cooktop. If we're going to subtract the product height of the microwave from 15 5/8", it requires 14.375 inches minimum clearance from the bottom of the microwave cabinet to the surface of the cooktop. Please check out the installation manual for guidelines: https://content.syndigo.com/asset/fcd5cc79-5950-489c-b7a5-ae0787c7a2a4/original.pdf ~Juan
