While connected to an external power source, the Dash Cam will continually record footage and temporarily save it to a microSD card inserted into the device. As the SD card's capacity fills up, the device will begin to overwrite unsaved data.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Garmin Dash Cam 46 has a built in battery that will last up to 30 minutes supposedly, however, I've not tested that. Once you cut power from the DC46, the unit will immediately do a countdown and shut off, but you have to physically turn it back on in order to continue recording. If you have a vehicle with continuous power for your outlets, then it will record as long as that power exists.
