“My previous dash cam had a tendency to overheat and would get stuck in a shut off, turn back on loop which finally made me get rid of it. Is this cam known to work well in hot cars? Or should I prepare to take it out of the car if I'm not driving?”

I wouldn’t recommend parking in direct sunlight which I get is hard but if you park your car backwards (like back in as I do) don’t unless direct sunlight won’t be hitting the unit because it will over heat.
