Yes, the camera and the mount can easily be removed. Simply pull the camera and the mount away from the windshield, only the metal disc remains on the windshield.

The included mount requires you to sort of "superglue" it to the windshield (there's an adhesive already on it and you peel/stick), and then it's magnetic. We opted to buy a suction cup mount and you can probably rig it somehow for dash mount. Pecos=Texas? We've never been bothered about our Garmin GPS, which is probably 25 square inches of windshield blockage, and this tiny dash cam might block 4.
