“Does this device require any WiFi connection?”

• No. When operating the GPS in your vehicle you do not require any WiFi connection. YES. You do need an internet connection to update the GPS. Before using in my car, I plugged the supplied USB cable into my home PC which of course has an internet connection. Eventually I will need to do another update when the maps need updating.
