No, this model includes pre-loaded maps of the lower 48 United Sates plus Hawaii.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, maps of all states are included, but the unit will update everything automatically using WiFi when used for the first time. It is not a straight forward process and cannot be bypassed. It takes long too. Battery does not last very long, after one hour of use it needs power to be recharged. Perhaps after some charging cycles it gets better. Overall it is a good unit with many features once it is set up properly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe it does have all 50, but it had many updates when we first plugged it in to the computer, like don’t expect to use it for a day amount of updates. Most of the time there was only 48 or 49 map updates, but I guess roads probably don’t change much in Hawaii.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When I downloaded the maps and updates into my Garmin Drive 51 it said “lower 48 states”. I checked the manual and no mention of what states were in the maps. I checked my unit by trying to navigate to Nome, Alaska but it couldn’t figure that out. The manual does say you can buy additional maps. I don’t know if adding a memory card would increase space and allow additional maps or if the other states are free but just not part of the initial download. I do like the unit so much that after buying one for my wife I bought another one for my truck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.not sure, only attempted to use it to go through 4 states. Will say that Garmin lasted half of the trip. On return trip the power cord failed and I was unable to navigate. Had to use old , reliable , maps.
