The Garmin Drive 51 USA LM is not a "Trucker" or "RV" GPS unit. It is best for passenger vehicle and/or pickup ect...... Garmin has two GPS units Specifically to be utilized by Large over the road Trucks and/or RV's they are the Garmin dezl 570LMT (5") or the Garmin dezl 770LMT (7"). Both of these have software that can aid in traversing the USA paying attention to such items as Vehicle Weight and/or High restrictions, the most efficient travel and up to date Traffic conditions ect.... As the user you can select the feature's which are most important to you the Large Vehicle Operator. I would think the larger 7" screen would afford the best view for the operator of a Large Truck or RV. Personally I have a 6" Garmin for my small Motor home. There are other GPS manufacturers who also have GPS units for similar uses. I personally have purchased for my personal use as well as for Family and Friends a minimum of 50-75 plus Garmin units over the years. You need to compare these two units and other manufacturers to determine what your needs are. If you are not familiar with the Garmin units, I would not purchase a unit with our the LMT featurers ("LM" Lifetime Map, "T" Traffic ). Hope this Helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, this model does not include any truck specific routing. The Garmin dēzl™ series includes detailed maps for North America that also include truck-related restrictions – like bridge heights, sharp curves, weight limits and more – and related information for most major roads and highways.
