What should the battery icon look like when it is fully charged? I can't tell if mine is almost full or almost empty. It has a yellow lightning bold then the battery with a small bit of red at the end. So is it almost full or almost empty? null

The GPS battery indicator should have green bars to indicate it is fully charged.  The lightning bolt means it is charging and the red means it's almost empty.

My Drive 52 has no bars. If it is charged it will be solid green. The red indictes discharge. The batteries hold very little charge even when full. Seems like Garmin could have put some decent batteries in them for the price.

When the battery is full you will see 4 green bars in the battery icon.  Based on your description the is almost empty, but is being charged.
