I just bought a Garmin 51LM- I’ve plugged it in but it won’t do anything. It just says Garmin....the, very unhelpful, sales associate mentioned a disk but said I didn’t need it until I wanted to update my maps what am I doing wrong? null

if it is plugged into computer it will only show garmin screen. if you want to use it you have to plug into wall

Sounds like the battery may need to be charged.  There are two ways to charge the internal battery in automotive devices: Use the vehicle power cable that came with your device or Use an AC power adapter accessory, such as a wall power adapter.
