“My DriveSmart 61 says maps are loading but nothing happens. Sometimes says 19 or 23 or 3minutes, sometimes says error loading. Nothing happens? Do you need a micro sd card to allow north american maps to load?”

No, an SD card isn’t required. We would suggest using the Garmin Express program to check for any map and software updates.
