Yes, it can be used with a chest strap, although it already has the heart rate monitoring via wrist sensor.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the fenix 7X Sapphire Solar will work with a chest strap. Garmin watches will display and record heart rate data from a connected accessory heart rate strap under two conditions: When you are actively viewing the heart rate widget on the watch. or When the watch is recording an activity. Garmin watches will not provide heart rate data from the connected heart rate straps outside of these two conditions. If you are needing to record heart rate data outside of an activity or when not viewing the heart rate widget you will need to use the built-in optical heart sensor of the watch.
