• Lopez, the device does not require internet during use. However, the device has free map and software updates which can be done through Garmin Express (www.garmin.com/express) on a compatible computer. For this you will need internet access. Best regards. ~QKO

• No, the GPS does not require internet access for anything other than updating your maps.
