• The RV 660 does have an internal battery, which charges whenever the device is connected to power. The maximum battery life is 1 hour. Brighter backlight, higher volume, active navigation, and active Bluetooth connections can all contribute to a faster-draining battery. -MH

• When you plug the unit into your car it recharges the battery-have never used any of our GPS on battery mode, always keep them plugged in when in use.

• Yes it has a rechargeable battery inside. Charges while you drive. You can not open the unit. Just started using this one. It seems to have more features then the old one.

• The RV 660LMT has an internal battery with a short battery life. Unfortunately, it really needs to be used plugged into your vehicle.
