No built-in battery. You must supply it power via microUSB input. "Go" features are hit and miss.

The Garmin Speak Plus does not have an internal battery and must be connected to power in the vehicle to operate. In addition to recording, the camera also enables safety-enhancing GPS features such as forward collision and lane departure warnings¹. Forward collision warnings alert when you are driving too closely to the vehicle ahead, and lane departure warnings are provided if you drift off-road or cross lanes into oncoming traffic. When your vehicle is stopped at an intersection or in traffic, helpful “Go” alerts notify you when traffic ahead starts moving again.
