You will need to rotate the blower based on the type of venting (outdoors/or recirculating indoors). You should feel very little air from the vent when vented to the outside. If vented indoors (recirculating), you will feel more air flow from the top vent. The charcoal filter should be installed if recirculating to remove smoke and odors. A:AnswerWe had a Best Buy rep install our microwave. I am pretty sure the upper holes matched from our previous GE which we had for 17 years. However, the installer used the previous bolts as they were longer than the ones that came with the new microwave. Once again, I am sure Best Buy customer service can probably answer the question.

All over-the-range microwaves can be vented to the outside using an equivalent total of 140 feet of rigid 3 1/4" x 10" rectangular or rigid 6" round ducting (a rectangular to round transition adapter must be used). Round ducts should be a minimum of 6".
