A:AnswerHi Corey - Models JVM3160RF2SS and JVM3160RFSS are the same. When the model is manufactured, the extra number (2) is placed on the appliance rating plate and product registration card. This number is used to identify manufacturing specific data when the appliance is made. Should service or parts be needed, this is used as an identifier for the specific appliance. Your new model will have a different number on the rating plate/registration card. We certainly appreciate your loyalty! Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com - Sue
A:AnswerHi skye - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE. The microwave control panel is not backlit, which means that the lettering on the keypads do not have lighting behind them. A:AnswerHi Dave - All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions needed to make installation a simple process. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy. NOTE: When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. A comparable model is GE® 1.9 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Sensor Microwave Oven JVM7195DKBB. A:AnswerIt can be vented to outside through the top or back of the microwave. It can also be configured to circulate the vent out the front. The instructions show how to set it up for either way.
A:AnswerHi Notcrazy - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE! We suggest to reset the electronics by unplugging or by turning off power at the circuit breaker for 30 seconds or so. Over-the-range models should be on a dedicated circuit. Require a 120 volt individual, properly grounded branch circuit with a 3 prong grounding type receptacle, protected by a 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker or time-delay fuse. A qualified service technician is required for an accurate diagnosis. To schedule service online, contact us at GEAppliances.com/service or call 800.GE.CARES (800.432.2737). Keep in touch! Sue
