Hello AER, Thanks so much for reaching out. Congratulations on the purchase of your new microwave. We hope you get many years of use from it. The paper you are referring to is the cover/wave guide. This needs to stay in place since this helps to disperse the microwaves throughout the cavity. If this is removed, a technician would be needed to make sure that it's replaced properly since it's so close to the magnetron.
