“My GE Microwave (JE 1540GV 002) originally made in 1996 stopped working. I certainly am happy with how long it lasted! Can you recommend a current replacement model that would work with the existing trim kit? Thank you!”

Hello and thank you for asking. At this time there is not a direct replacement microwave and trim kit. When replacing the microwave the old trim kit is not compatible with any new model today. You will then need to replace the microwave and the built-in trim kit. You will need to modify your current cutout opening of H- 17 1/2" x 24" W. The new models would require opening of H - 17 1/8" x W 23 1/4" and the model microwave is PEB9159DJBB and then either optional 27" Built-In Kit JX9152DJBB for 27" wide cabinet or optional 30" Built-In Kit JX9153DJBB.
