No, the unit cannot be separated - it is manufactured as a single unit.

Hi Tulipsaki- Thanks for your interest in our GE Spacemaker Laundry Center GUD24ESSMWW. The washer and dryer  are not designed to be separated for use independently of each other. Unitized washer dryer units only have one power cord (sold separately). There is not a separate cord for the washer and the dryer. Also, the control panel for both are located on the dryer.
