Hi - Thanks for considering GE! While comforters are not the same thickness, they will wash properly if fits behind the washer tub gasket and is not stuffed into the tub tightly. The thickness, density, and overall size of the comforter/pillows should be taken in account when deciding whether to wash in a washer. Follow manufacturers recommendations on the label. Model GFW148SSMWW can accommodate 1 Flat Queen-Sized Sheet, 1 Fitted Queen-Sized Sheet and 2 Pillowcases. We suggest to view additional "Loading Examples" on page 11 of the Use and Care Manual at the following link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90570-2.pdf - Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A bulky queen sized comforter would not fit. This machine barely fits a queen fitted sheet, queen flat sheet, 4 standard pillow cases and queen duvet cover. I have not tried washing pillows in this washer, and probably wouldn't since it's a front-load machine.
