  • QuestionHow long does Tub Clean cycle take? Is there a est. time remaining that will show on the screen?

    Asked by Peps.

    • Answer I'm running the tub clean cycle as we speak--at no time yet (has been running for 45 minutes) has it has not shown any estimated time. All that is showing is "CLn" I wish they would show the time all through the cycle, like the other cycles. Maybe the company will read these answers and suggestions and make that available in future machines, as for me--I would not buy one of these washer/dryer sets again.

  • QuestionCan this washing machine wash a king size QUILT, not comforter? I already read the GE Manual Page 11, it does NOT answer the question about King Size Quilt https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-9

    Asked by Louise.

    • Answer Hi Louise - Thanks for considering GE Model GFW148SSMWW! The thickness, density, and overall size of the quilt should be taken in account when deciding whether to wash in a washer. It must fit behind the washer tub gasket and not stuffed into the tub tightly. Since the capacity is 2.4 cu.ft., it is best sized for queen size quilts, sheets, etc. Our full size washers (4.8 cu.ft.- 5.0 cu.ft.) models are best for king size quilts. • QuestionCan a bulky queen sized down alternative comforter fit in this machine (and the matching dryer)? How many pillows?

    Asked by BulkyBedding.

    • Answer Hi - Thanks for considering GE! While comforters are not the same thickness, they will wash properly if fits behind the washer tub gasket and is not stuffed into the tub tightly. • Questionhow many towels would this washer hold

    Asked by washeranddryer.

    • Answer Hey there, and thanks for this great question! We appreciate your interest in this washer, and know how important the capacity is. Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to say exactly how many towels a certain model would fit, as it would depend on the type of towel you use, the size and fabric, etc. We regret any inconvenience this may cause, but can advise this model has a total capacity of 2.4 cu ft. In general we expect a capacity of 2.6 cu ft. to accommodate a maximum weight of approximately 8.58 lbs. of clothing; the 2.4 cu ft. model should therefore accommodate nearly that amount. We advise loading loosely and evenly around the outside of the basket. The manual for this model does have a ‘Loading the Washer’ section on page 11 that may be helpful, and provides examples of what you can include in a load; that manual can be viewed on our GE website by looking up the model number. We hope this helps, and are happy to assist if you have any other concerns or questions. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA
