Hello and you have asked a good question about home or garage ready freezers. The newer upright and chest freezers are garage ready and are proven to perform at room temperatures ranging between 0 degrees F. and 110 degrees F. One that is designed for use inside your home cannot perform in temperatures that cold due to temperatures below 32 degrees there is no cooling.. Hope this helps and Happy Holidays. Geoff@GEA
