Q: QuestionAre the shelves strong enough to hold a lot of frozen meat? When viewing other freezers, so people talked about the shelves bowing under the weight.

• A:Answer We keep ours in the garage, but when we are around it, we don't notice any noise whatsoever. It is extremely quite. Basically it doesn't make any noticeable noise at all. If I had to say anything negative at all, I would say the door is a little hard to open. I'm sure it's because it's only a few months old, but it is difficult to open with one hand. I usually have to hold the base with one hand and pull with the other. This is only a problem when I have something in my hand to put away. I have to set it down first, then open the freezer, then put it away. I couldn't be happier with my purchase of this freezer. It is exactly what we were looking for.

Q: QuestionIs the alarm very loud?

• A:Answer Hi jpihunt - While a decibel rating is not available for the door alarm, it would be comparable to a standard alarm on any refrigerator or freezer. If your door has been left open for more than 2 minutes, the control panel will display Door Open and will sound an alarm until the door has been closed or Door Open is pressed on the control panel. If Door Open has been pressed but the door has not been closed, Door Open will continue to be displayed on the control panel until the door has been closed. If 10 minutes after Door Open has been pressed, the door is still open, the door open alarm will sound again. Thanks for considering GE. Keep in touch! SUEatGEA

• A:Answer It is garage ready. Its built for that. However, if you think you have rodents in that area, I would highly recommend covering the lower back part with like chicken wire fence to prevent pests to play on or eat those parts.

Q: QuestionI bought this freezer with glass shelves and I cannot put much meat on it without the shelves bowing. If I change to wire shelves will it be able to hold greater weight? If so, can I purchase the shelves seperately or exchange them?

Q: QuestionQuestion, I see pictures where the bottom has two pull out bins. I have also seen a picture of this model where it has just one full size bin. I would prefer the one full size bin. Is it possible to have that option? Also, do you offer free haul-away?

We do have this model FUF21SMRWW available with one drawer on the bottom however it’s a wire slide out drawer.
