A:AnswerHey there, and thanks for reaching out to us about this issue – we hate to hear you’ve had an issue with the defrost cycle not working well after your door was replaced. We know an issue with frost building up would be frustrating to deal with, and we regret the inconvenience you’ve experienced. Notice of the trouble you’ve had will be sent to our team for review. If your full model number is FUF21DLRWW, we can advise this model is designed to be ‘frost free’ – we would not normally expect that you would need to defrost it, as it’s been pre-set at the factory to defrost automatically. If excessive frost is building up, that is often the result of an issue with the door – making sure the door seal has no gaps or tears, and the door is therefore able to close and seal completely, may help. Some frost buildup is also possible if humidity is particularly high. If you aren’t able to resolve this issue after checking the door and you think service may be needed, that department is available at 1-800-432-2737; a technician would be glad to examine your unit. If your full model number is different, please reach out to us over social media and clarify the complete model number – we can certainly review this issue further with that information. We hope this is helpful, and are glad to assist if you have any other concerns or questions. All the best. -Sarah@GEA

A:AnswerHello- Thanks so much for checking with us. We are happy to help! This freezer is approved to be installed in a garage but should not be installed on a covered deck outdoors. It should not be exposed to rain water or direct sunlight. Don't install the freezer where the temperature will go below 0 degrees or above 110 degrees, because it will not maintain proper temperatures. If you have any questions in the future, please let us know. We are always happy to help! Joyce@GEA
A:AnswerHi there, we appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us. We strongly recommend that an extension cord not be used with your freezer due to the potential safety hazards under certain conditions. However, if an extension cord is used, it is absolutely necessary that it be a UL® listed 3-wire grounding appliance extension cord and that the current carry rating of the cord be a minimum of 15 amperes. We hope this information is useful and we're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA
A:AnswerHi - Thank you for having purchased a new GE freezer. We recommend setting the temperature at 0 which is the default setting. You can check your foods after 24 hours to ensure items like ice cream are cold enough to suit your personal preference. You can then adjust the temperature up or down if needed. The "High Temperature" light should go off once the freezer has reached safe freezing temperatures. If the light has remained on even after the internal temperatures are cold enough, we would recommend service. All our best! Vikki@GEA
A:AnswerHello - Thank you for your question, we are happy to help! This freezer does not require a water connection. We apologize for the confusion and we'll get this corrected. Thanks for checking. Olga@GEA
A:AnswerHello, thank you for your question. We are sincerely sorry your freezer's high temperature alarm is blinking. Pressing "Alarm Reset" on the control will silence the alarm, and stop the flashing, but the "High Temp" LED will keep flashing until your unit reaches a safe storage temperature. If this is persisting, we recommend you schedule service with us by calling 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737) Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. ET or Saturday – Sunday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. ET or by visiting the "Schedule Service" link under the "Owner Support" tab on our website. -Chris@GEA

A:AnswerHi there,
We can certainly understand you being worried about the door being left open! While this freezer does not have a self closing door, it does have an alarm that will ring if the door has been left open for too long or if the temperature rises. This will certainly let anyone know if they forgot to close the door. Stay in touch! Mike@GEA
A:AnswerHello LovetoBake,
All great questions! We're thank you for choosing GE Appliances, and it would be our pleasure to help you with your freezer. We found that in order to change the temperature, use the control panel on the front of the freezer. Simply press "+" to increase the temperature, and "-" to decrease the temperature. This information can be found on page 6 of your owner's manual. On this same page, you can find how to silence the alarm on the freezer, but there is not a way to permanently turn this feature off.
If it is the LED light that you are trying to turn off, we recommend pressing "Alarm Reset" on the control panel. Next, press the "+ " and "-" sign while holding "Control Lock" at the same time for 5 seconds. Your model may still be in Demo mode, and this will turn this setting off.
It is completely normal for a new freezer to be a bit stiff upon purchase. If it is too difficult to open, we recommend rubbing paraffin wax on the hinge side of the door. Paraffin wax is used for canning purposes and can be purchased at most grocery stores.
For reference, we have provided a link to the owner's manual below.

A:AnswerHello ScooBeDieux,
