Hello. We appreciate you reaching out, though we hate to hear you’ve had an issue with your lid not staying open when you lift it; we know this must be frustrating, especially when the unit is new. We can advise the lids of our chest freezers are designed to stop at around 80 degrees; we don’t expect this model to have an issue with the lid not staying open, and we regret any inconvenience this has caused. You may want to contact our service department so a technician can examine the lid for any possible issues - that department is available at 1-800-432-2737.
