A:AnswerHi Raji- Thanks for choosing our GE® 23.2 Cu. Ft. Side-By-Side Refrigerator
GSS23GSKSS! We certainly appreciate your loyalty. In the refrigeration process, it is normal that heat be expelled in the area under the refrigerator. This is normal air flow cooling the motor. Some floor coverings are sensitive and will discolor at these normal and safe temperatures. For reference, see page 33 of the Owner's Manual at the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60646-5.pdf - Also, allow the following clearances for proper air circulation: Sides 1/8", Top 1", Back 2". Thanks for reaching out to us. Enjoy!
A:AnswerHi COLLIE123- Thanks for viewing our GE Model GSS23GSKSS! The refrigerator was introduced in the fall of 2016. You'll love the adjustable slide-out, spill-proof glass shelves with raised edges to help contain spills and make clean up quick and easy. Also, the advanced water filtration reduces trace pharmaceuticals from water and ice* (* Removes 98% of ibuprofen, atenolol, fluoxetine, progesterone and trimethoprim. These pharmaceuticals are not necessarily in all users’ water) Play Video: https://www.youtube.com/embed/wl81rCmU3UY?rel=0 - Keep in touch. We love hearing from you! SUE@GEA

A:AnswerHi there - We appreciate this question, but our refrigerators are not rated in decibels at this time. Rest assured, though, that we design our appliances to operate as quietly as possible. Newer refrigerators sound different from older refrigerators, as modern refrigerators have more features and use newer technology. On page 30 of the owner's manual, you'll find a list and descriptions of normal operating sounds for this refrigerator. We hope this is insightful. Please connect with us if you have any further questions - we're always glad to help out. Be well, Kelsey@GEA
A:AnswerHi Larry- Thanks for choosing GE! Use caution when using a refrigerator installed on a hard floor. Due to the size of the doors and the strength of the door gaskets, it is possible that it may roll or move when one of the doors is opened. Since the rollers / wheels do not lock in place, it may help to place a piece of wood, a small wood wedge, or plastic furniture coaster (with felt on the bottom) under the wheels to prevent rolling. Re-level the refrigerator if necessary. See page 25 of the Installation Instructions: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60646-5.pdf - Thanks for checking with us! SUEatGEA
A:AnswerHi Gary- Thanks for viewing! The interior drawers can be accessed with the door(s) at 90 degrees.
Additional clearance may be needed to remove the drawers or to open the door(s) if the adjacent wall or cabinets are deeper than the refrigerator case depth (depth w/o doors). If installed against a wall, allow clearance of 14-3/16" on freezer side to remove bin. A:AnswerHi John - The new high efficiency compressor may run faster and longer than your old refrigerator and you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound while it is operating. See page 32 of the Owner's Manual for explanations of different sounds: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60646-7.PDF. You can also view normal sounds at this link: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17473. These are sounds that are operational and cannot be turned off.
