Hello- Thanks so much for your question. We are happy to help! The vent is below the door to keep electronics cooler, improve appearance, and provide a better door seal at the top. This 24" double wall oven does not vent to the outside. It vents through the oven doors. There are vents at the top of the door from which the heat will escape.
