“How far does the unit stick out from the window in the front once installed? I have a child security gate on the inside of my window frames that only affords about 5 inches of space for the front of AC unit. Exact measurement would be appreciated. Thanks”

Ours extends 3.5" inches inside the lower sash window that closes down over the top of the unit. It extends minimally (less than 1/2") beyond the lower window sill.
