A:AnswerI spent 15 years doing A/C work. Air conditioning works by removing water from the air. The higher the humidity the more water it removes, that water is vented to the outside if the unit is installed right. Most window A/C units sit slightly at an angled so the water runs down and outside. As far as the noise, just remember this is not an all bells and whistles A/C unit. The more money you spend on a unit, the more insulation, and other useful options will show you where your money went. I'm 68 years old and I've never heard a silent window unit. For help on making a choice, I usually go to Consumer Reports and read their reviews.
A:AnswerAir conditioners must be left to sit in their working position for 24 hours after install Before you turn it on , if the air conditioner is tipped even a little during install or transport it must sit for 24 hours to let the oil drain back into the compressor. if the oil in the compressor of the air conditioner is disturbed at all and you run it right away it will eat itself . There is high pressure oil inside the compressor and it takes time for it to drain back into the compressor. You may want to bring it back and get a new one . But this time let it sit in the window for 24 hours before turning it on . I hope this helps .
A:AnswerYes I mounted it in a window that is 17" in width, I just mounted it without the side flaps. The minimum required width to my knowledge is just a recommendation when using the flaps. It will work on a very small window just fine without them. I had another AC mounted in this window previously and it worked fine for years.
A:AnswerJust hit the "Display" button then input the + with a # when you want the ac to turn on(for example + 4 would mean your aiir would automatically turn on in 4 hours)
A:AnswerHi there - we're glad to tell you more about this window air conditioner! After checking the owner's manual for the unit, this air conditioner will work with a single-hung window, but you need to modify/adjust the instructions. This because the instructions are written to show you the steps for installation on a double-hung window. If you need a visual guide for installation, please refer to our YouTube channel for a video explanation. -- We hope you found this answer helpful. Have a great day. - Pablo@GEA
A:AnswerHello Fluffy - Thank you for reaching out about this excellent air conditioner. We do not have an adapter kit for the installation panels. There are other air conditioner models that can fit a 42 inch window. If this is not an option for you, we recommend visiting a local hardware store for suggestions. Keep in touch! - JB

A:AnswerA two to a three prong adapter can be used but for safety sake it would be preferable to have a qualified electrician convert that two prong outlet to a three prong system. It will save you problems up the line.
