Did a lot of research looking for an AC that will cool a 12x20 open living room that opens to the kitchen and the dinning room Problem wanted to avoid having to run more than one unit problem 2 is older wiring so needed to avoid tripping the breaker and problem 3 avoid running up the electric bill sky high. This AC worked really well was very pleased and the price isn't bad. This worked really well with the ceiling fan, i did not have to buy more than one. I love the remote feature and timer feature. The eco mode was used the most. Timer was set to turn off after 1 hr when heading to sleep. Installation was easy and condensation building up was not an issue. Overall i really like this AC and will look to purchase 2 more one for each floor of my my home. First day we used this was a 90 degree day and honestly it cooled the whole floor in a matter of 30 mins on the high cool option. Once cooled switched to the eco mode and it was able to maintain very well. Only issue is the buttons on the unit are hard to see what button is what you have to look at it at the right angle to see it which is why the remote was used regularly

I normally keep the temperature on my air conditioner on 72, but with this unit 74 degrees works fine. I have not figured out the WiFi yet, but it's not really needed since the remote has all the functions.

I have a 20X18 room. I had a 5000 BTU window AC that was working fine but was struggling at times during the hottest days of last summer so I needed something more powerful this summer and the TCL 8000 BTU is delivering, doing the job. Sometimes it gets even too cold that I have to turn it off. Initially in the first few days it was working rough but it's working fine now and I am very happy. Plus I bought it as a deal of the day so it was a bargain. I highly recommended it. It's worth noting that I bought a few TCL TVs before, they were cheaper and in my opinion far better than Samsung, LG and others. Now I tried the TCL window AC and I am equally happy. TCL is cheaper and better than most more expensive competitors.

After reading all the positive reviews, I knew I had found the one I was going to buy. My 20+ year-old A/C finally quit humming. Now it's 95 °, and I need a new one. I started researching. What happened to QUALITY built window units?! So many other brands had horrible reviews. I thought I was going to have to go with a professional split system or whatever. Then, for whatever reason, I had missed the TCL brand, or the price made me skip them. But looking at Best Buy's window A/C selections, I see an 8,000 BTU TCL model, and it was on sale. NICE! The reviews were AWESOME too. There were none in stock, so I had to order it. The delivery took 4 days to go halfway across the US. I HAD to accept the wait time to get what others were so glad they had bought. It was said by others to be a strong cooling unit. IT IS. It was said to be easy to install. IT IS. I'm 69 and handled it easily. The older one was a lot heavier. The min. opening says 26" I believe, but it fit in my 23" wide opening just fine with room to spare. Opening the box was SO EASY and a brilliant design. I'll add that it is an awesome dehumidifier too. Put it in COOL mode, and it cools for some time and also dehumidifies at other times. It has a DRY setting just for drying the air, and it does that well too. I put it on that setting after 4 days of no A/C, and it stays at 64* until it's changed. It is in a back room of a cottage that has a 14'x21'x16' flat-topped cathedral ceiling. When I go out to check on it, it is usually off. The room temp is exactly what I set it on. I bought an extended warrantee because I LOVE this unit and hope to have it for many years to come. If you're in need of a window A/C, check out TCL. Then buy the size you need.
