QuestionWhat does the flashing red filter light mean

- Answer Hey there, thanks for reaching out. This light means you need to clean the filter. The air filter behind the front grille should be checked and cleaned at least every 30 days or more often if necessary. To remove it, you'll need to slide the filter from the left side of the unit and remove the filter. You can then clean it with warm, soapy water. Finally, rinse and let the filter dry before replacing it. Do not clean the filter in a dishwasher. If you need anything else, just let us know. We're always happy to help. - Guy@GEA

QuestionDoes this unit work in a window that slides left to right rather than up and down like in the video?

- Answer Yes it can be. I have it in my apartment window. I purchased it based on the size so I did not need to use the sides. You will need to build some type of upper support that acts like a window but that can be easy. I just cut some 1x boards i had and used tape between them to seal them. But a simple piece of something thick that can rest on the window frame will work. I installed some charcoal foam around the unit for draft support. Also using a piece of wood to keep the slide window against the unit is very helpful

- Answer No. Only if absolutely necessary. Some water in bottom of ac helps it operate. If you plan on using this in a bedroom, be warned, it can be pretty loud.

QuestionThere is a red light flashing just above the power button what does it mean ?? I washed the filter out but the the flashing light is still on

- Answer Hi Moe - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your GE Model AHP06LZ. We are happy to help. This feature automatically notifies you that the air filter must be cleaned. The indicator light will come on after 240 hours of operation. After cleaning and replacing the air filter, press Filter on the control panel and the light will go off. QuestionIs there a setting to keep the fan on when unit reaches correct temperature? I am looking at 4 different GE smart AC's and wonder if this applies to all of them.

- Answer Hi Pat - Thanks for viewing GE Model AHP06LZ! Eco or Energy Saver Mode controls the fan. When OFF, the fan runs all the time, while the compressor cycles on and off. When ON, the fan will cycle on and off with the compressor. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue

QuestionI have my unit set at 64 degrees and when it hits that mark, the motor stops and it starts blowing room temperature air until it goes back up to 68 degrees. I want it to consistantly blow cold air and stay at 64. It’s on cool mode. Why does it do this?

- Answer Hi - Thanks for choosing GE Model # AHP06LZ. An electronic thermostat is used to maintain the room temperature. The compressor will cycle on and off to keep the room at the set level of comfort. This is normal. Energy Saver Mode controls the fan. When On, the fan will cycle on and off with the compressor. This may result in wider variations of room temperature and humidity. NOTE: the fan may continue to run for a short time or may pulse intermittently after the compressor cycles off to sample the room air. When Off, the fan runs all the time, while the compressor cycles on and off. Set to Auto for the fan speed to automatically set to the speed needed to provide optimum comfort settings with the set temperature. If the room needs more cooling, the fan speed will automatically increase. If the room needs less cooling, the fan speed will automatically decrease. - Answer If your power goes out, you will need to restart it. You will need to wait 2 minutes once power comes back on before you turn your unit back on.
