Great window unit
Now that we got a working one it's great. Unfortunately the first one we got, only worked for about 3 days. After that it never blew air colder than 75 degrees no matter what temperature we had it set. We took it back to Best buy and they gladly replaced it with a new working model. This one works FANTASTICALLY WELL. The remote makes it easy to start, stop, or change the temperature, fan speed, or mode without having to get up out of bed and walk to the window. As someone with limited mobility I truly appreciate that. It has been rare that I have needed to set the fan to anything other than "Auto". I love that setting as it automatically adjusts the fan speed so the room gets to the desired temperature quicker and then slows back down on its own to maintain that temp. The 'medium' and moreso the 'high' fan speeds are a little noisy, but not so bad that they trigger the hearing issues I have with loud noises. The 'low' speed while not silent is quiet enough that I can actually block it out and watch TV or listen to music without having to put the volume away up to hear over the AC. There are a few mode settings. In all honesty I haven't used, by choice, anything but "cool". The fan setting works, but if I wanted a fan I wouldn't have bought an AC unit. That being said, I do not like the "Eco" setting at all. I feel like it saves energy by not actually cooling off my room. It's very possible that I don't fully understand what the "Eco" setting is supposed to do nor how it is suppose to work, but being "ancient", as my teen daughter tells me regularly, there are things I except to work a certain way and when they don't I don't like them. When I turn on a window AC unit I expect it to blow cold air and make the room cooler I quickly. The "cool" setting works perfect for this, the Eco setting does not. The only reason for the 4 star rating is that when you turn the unit off, no matter what the settings were, when you turn it back on again the mode is "Eco". The instruction booklet was less than helpful finding a way to keep this from happening. In NJ in October there are days when the heat is on in the morning it but by the afternoon we need the AC again. Many times I would be in my room trying to figure out why it was so hot and then realized the unit had switched back to "Eco" when I turned it back on. Once I put it to "cool" the room cooled almost instantly. It is a very powerful unit, definitely bigger than we needed for just our bedroom, however when we leave the door open, it also easily cools the dining room (directly across the hall) and a good portion of the kitchen and living room areas (next to the dining room). The "auto" setting on the fan helps keep all of it cool or just our room (depending on whether or not our door is open or closed) by adjusting the fan. It's wonderful. For the most part, installation was simple, the biggest issue my husband had was due to the fact that we have stupidly small windows. Once we installed and removed from inside the house problem solved. We just had to put down some water proof pads in case it dropped weather out condensation when removed from the window. The side flaps work well, however we do cover the seams around them with painters tape as an extra precaution as we live in a highly wooded area with a lot of tiny bugs that come in otherwise. It may not look the best, but we have always done this with every window AC unit we have ever had and it truly helps. If my house is cool and the bugs can't get in, I don't care if the tape looks silly. I'm happy.

Most reliable ac ive had
The air conditioner works perfectly easy to set up as well since i purchased the ac its barely been turned off. This ac is perfect for medium to one person bedrooms. The modes available are great also even in fan mode the ac cools well too i would recommend i actually already have to a couple of people i know.

Decent window unit for a bigger room
It keeps it cool and doesn’t raise the electric bill as bad as I originally thought while set on eco and seems to do well in a 14x18 foot room over the garage. The sqft is a bit less than that of a 14x18 due to ceiling slant on one side
