• Hi Danny - Thanks for your interest in GE! All window air conditioners have white Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) air ducts. This foam material is similar to what is used in coolers and insulated cups and should not be removed. Studies show that EPS is typically mold resistant. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue

• There appears to be expanded polystyrene inside the model AHP06LZ, likely as insulation. There is a noticeable gap between two pieces in my unit - not thrilled with the build quality.
