“As we brought the washer into the house, water leaked out of the drain opening when we tipped it coming through the door. This is supposed to be a new machine. Why would there be water in it?”

Hello S - Congratulations on your new washer purchase! Every GE and Hotpoint washer is tested for leakage before being packed for shipment. Therefore, the washer may have a small amount of water in the tub when they reach the home. If the product is tilted severely or turned upside down, this water may spill. We hope this helps!
