A:AnswerA through-the-wall sleeve cannot be used to convert window air conditioners with side louvers for through the wall use. The vents on the unit are intended to be unobstructed. Any obstruction of the vents on side of our unit can prevent airflow from properly cooling the compressor and fan. This will decrease the life of the compressor and fan as well as effecting the cooling performance. Even a sleeve with vents on the sides will reduce airflow. To learn more, see the Window Requirements section on page 10 of the Owner’s Manual, which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website. A:AnswerYou can install anything anywhere if you have the skill and tools and permission to cut holes in the walls. But this unit is designed to fit in a typical sash window, and for that it pops right in. ANY other installation, you need to know what you are doing. A through the wall installation requires a lot of cutting, reframing, etc etc etc. And don't cut any wires or pipes. If you are unsure, get competent help.
A:AnswerSitting about 5’ from it we had to turn the tv up a bit to hear clearly but not a lot! If you have hearing aids it might be a bit loud or distorting.
