You can install anything anywhere if you have the skill and tools and permission to cut holes in the walls. But this unit is designed to fit in a typical sash window, and for that it pops right in. ANY other installation, you need to know what you are doing. A through the wall installation requires a lot of cutting, reframing, etc etc etc. And don't cut any wires or pipes. If you are unsure, get competent help.
