Hello mg@MG - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. The dryer will make a sound as the drum is turning, but if it is thumping, squeaking or making a metal-to-metal sound, then we recommend discontinuing to use the dryer until it can be serviced. We recommend contacting GE Factory Service at 1-800-432-2737 for assistance. I hope this helps!
