It can be vented from the rear, right side, left side, and bottom of the dryer. QuestionHow to cope with excessive noise from the dryerThe noise from this dryer is unbearable--the dryer is level. The noise is a very loud whoosing, but a bit like metal on metal. One cannot stand close to the dryer--it is way too loud. It can be heard outside the house. Any experience about what to do besides get rid of the dryer?

- Answer Hello mg@MG - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. The dryer will make a sound as the drum is turning, but if it is thumping, squeaking or making a metal-to-metal sound, then we recommend discontinuing to use the dryer until it can be serviced. We recommend contacting GE Factory Service at 1-800-432-2737 for assistance. I hope this helps!
