“at what range of temperatures does this operate all it go as high as 40 degrees, or does it stay in freezing temps in other words could it be used for a referagator?”

Hello, Good question! We appreciate your interest in this model and we'd love to help you with it's temperatures. The correct operating temperature of chest and upright freezers, including smaller, compact models is -5 to +5 degrees Fahrenheit. Because of this we do not recommend it for refrigerator use.
